Growing up, I spent countless hours on the floor of my parents' sunken lounge, sifting through their vinyl collection. The Masters Apprentices, INXS, The Easybeats, and Crowded House – it was my unwitting introduction to the world of Australian music.

Hi, I'm Kylie Strachan and I'm here making history with the first ever Multi Artist Collab T-shirt Design to raise money and awareness for urgently needed funds for Support Act who help artists, managers, crew and music workers in crisis.

Over the past six years, I've worked as a designer within the music industry, collaborating with exceptional talents. These experiences formed the bedrock of my connections with musicians and managers, drawing them into the Homegrown T-Shirt concept.

When I reflect on the soundtrack that has profoundly shaped my life, it's Powderfinger and Bernard Fanning that come to mind. Their music has been my lifeline, offering support, hope, and inspiration even when my life took unexpected turns. Bernard felt like a steadfast friend during those challenging times.

In March of this year, we had a candid conversation about the power of music and art in providing solace during illness. This conversation birthed the Homegrown T-Shirt concept, featuring 53 Aussie acts, each hand-sketched and united in a yearbook-like class photo.

When someone you've idolised for the majority of your life supports your idea, the stakes rise. But I believe I've done justice to Bernard's faith in me. Homegrown is a project straight from the heart, made possible by the unwavering dedication of musicians, managers, Gildan, Love Police, and Support Act, the driving forces behind this extraordinary collaboration.

Our music creators are a precious asset, and it's our duty to protect and support them.
